THE mystery song Through My Window started a collaboration among Akademi Fantasia artistes Dafi, Mila and Akim – they got together to sing it and even worked on a music video for the song.
The song was in a CD that was sent to media companies a week ago. Since then, it has been heard over the radio, entertaining and intriguing listeners.
Its website everyoneconnects.net had over 18,000 hits in the first 4 days – what’s phenomenal is that the CD initially only contained the song, lyrics and website URL, everyoneconnects.net.

A visit to its everyoneconnects.net website revealed that there are many things lined up for the next few weeks, built around the song. The website features, amongst others, online banner concerts, which is the first of its kind in Malaysia.
It was the music that resonated with Dafi, Mila and Akim. “When the banner concerts were announced, we just had to jump on board and make some noise!” says a very animated Mila.
The Through My Window online banner concerts feature performances inside a banner space, along with a contest for budding musicians.
The performers with the best renditions of Through My Window win the chance to perform live at the Everyone Connects event in Jalan Bukit Bintang in Kuala Lumpur on Nov 21.
Apparently, TM is one of the collaborators in the everyoneconnects.net initiative. Dafi says they are “giving the song a different spin with our experimental style.” All three are excited about working together in the making of the music video.
“Anything’s possible if you put your mind to it,” they say.
Dafi, whose full name is Gadaffi Ismail Sabri, made his first ever appearance on the hit reality TV show Akademi Fantasia in Season 5 in 2007.
This 19-year-old was chosen among thousands during the auditions. Although he only made it to the 7th week of the competition, Dafi is one of the most successful newcomers in the music industry.
Mila (Noorsyarmilla Jirin) has proven her “girl power” by being the first female winner of Akademi Fantasia. This petite Penangite enjoys reading novels, dancing and singing. Ever since her “graduation” from AF, she has been busy doing what she loves most – entertaining her fans.
Akim (Afiq Hakim Ahmad) was the first runner up in Akademi Fantasia Season 7 this year. He’s already into musical drama and his song, Bengang, has been on the charts for the last eight weeks. – everyoneconnects.net
